My street -- circa the 1920s -- when it was considered to be scenic enough to be worthy of appearing on a postcard. The street corners of Collins and Knollwood near the McGowan's house. In third grade Scott M. and I would walk home from school and we'd pass through here everyday at around 3:30 and throw down our book bags right where the cameraman stood to wrestle on the lawn, or to throw spiny-husked chestnuts at the fleeing Amy S. & Gina R.

And below, on what is now the grounds of the yacht club, on the large granite boulder, on maple-sweet autumn evenings, Sarah G. and I would make out furiously and watch the red and green lights blink on & off out in the Sound.
