The NYABF draws an odd crowd. Nearly everyone wears glasses. Glasses with bold, dark frames. Speech and mannerism are self-conscious and ultra-refined, lest you forget that these people are the High-Minded elites of our society. One marvels at the level of haughtiness on display. Celebrities roam the concourse amid the common--albeit insanely wealthy--folk. They oft sport the most conspicuous attempts at disguise which only draw more attention their way. Who's that guy with the ratty hooded sweatshirt and oversized aviators? Is it the Unibomber? A well known local is spotted at fair's end looking for bargains. And then there are all the book babes. They are everywhere. Thank the Lord for the book babes; all bespectacled & flirty over Joyce, the perfect blend of hott and nerdy.
