Pictured below are musicians who are selling out. T, (who is seen selling out on drums), has worked in television advertising for quite some time. He is now in business for himself. Every now and then he'll have a project that requires the creation of a soundtrack. One time it was a 30 second TV spot for a fuel oil company, another time it was a radio jingle for a CD store. And who can forget the bold yet informative recycling program with the strange acid rock propelling film footage of bottles & cans being dumped into industrial crushers and blast furnaces? Yesterday we created music for a video presentation that a tech company will run at a trade show. I'm told there will be odd animation depicting wave-of-the-future computer networks interacting & replicating and what not. Suffice it to say we had alot of fun composing music to accompany these abstract concepts & images and the only task will be editing out all the laughter. There are few joys which surpass playing music with no guidelines or boundries(+ some hi-grade weed, yo). Add to this joy the generous check you receive for services rendered--for making this crazy music--and you're in sell-out heaven.
