He can remember nothing else which took place on that day - other than the vivid image of how she presented herself - so immediately distinguished from the crowd - grace & movement of hands, smiles wry & knowing, straight & assured stance, all poise & posture - and particularly memorable, the gentle expression (conveying a most calm awareness) which she wore so well. He must have saw her precisely as she wished to be seen. Unforgettable on an otherwise forgotten day.
